Route 6 water main work continues
Route 6 construction work is full steam ahead as East Coast Construction works to install a water main as part of the bridge project.
A water main is a large underground pipe that carries potable water from a treatment facility to homes and businesses throughout the community.
The water main installation near 93 Wareham Road along Route 6 will continue until mid-November of this year and resume in the spring of 2027.
The road currently uses temporary trench pavement that is installed at the end of each work day. The final pavement, which will be the full width of the travel lane, will be installed at the conclusion of the project in 2027.
The schedule and work completion is subject to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
