Dominga M. Andrade, 94
WAREHAM- Dominga M. Andrade, age 94, of Wareham , died peacefully while in the care of her family on Sept. 24, 2026.
Dominga was the loving daughter of the late John and Mary (Faria) Alves and grew up in Wareham. She attended Wareham schools and like many of her classmates started working at an early age. She met John Andrade, the love of her life, in the late 1940’s and the two married on Dec. 2, 1950. They settled in West Wareham where they raised their four daughters.
Dominga was the quintessential mom who adored her four girls but also helped support the household by working. She was a supervisor of the fresh fruit division for Ocean Spray for many years and later in life a home health aide. When she was not supporting her husband and daughters in their endeavors, she could be found at her parents’ house which was next door or taking sewing lessons. She did enjoy outside activities, but sewing was her true passion. Dominga will be remembered for being loving, kind, forgiving, and selfless. As a mom she will be remembered for being a true living example of a nurturing and compassionate person.
Dominga was the loving mother of Diana Richardson and her husband Chris of Sandwich, Roberta J. Andrade-Ogletree of East Wareham, Debra M. Arai of SC, and Lisa A. Andrade-Thompson and her husband Anthony Thompson of Georgia. Loving “Grandma” of 8 and “Great Grandma” of 9. Loving sister of the late David Alves and his wife Virginia Alves of VA. Loving aunt of Valerie Carter of VA and deceased nephew David Michael Alves of Wareham.
All are cordially invited to Chapman Funerals & Cremations- Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28) for a visitation on Thursday, October 1st from 4pm-8pm. Funeral from Chapman Funerals & Cremations- Wareham on Friday, October 2 at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret’s Church, 141 Main St, Buzzards Bay, at 10:00am. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, (P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284), St. Jude’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, or Catholic Charities of Fall River Appeal.
