Each year the administration within Town Hall compete for best decorated office. For the second year in a row, the Board of Health has taken first place.
Clerk with the board, Robin Carbone, was dressed as Olaf the snowman to match the office's theme from the movie "Frozen." She said the decorating began just after Thanksgiving with Health Inspector Samantha Monast at her side helping to coordinate.
"We both got some ideas of what we wanted, headed out and purchased some stuff," Carbone said. We didn't go all out, it's a lot of wrapping paper and Dollar Tree items but I'd say it came out pretty cute."
The office had snow, lights and pictures of characters from the movie all throughout the room. Staff were listening to "Let it Go" since 8 a.m. to stay on theme.
"We enjoy decorating the office and we have kids that come in if people are pulling permits with us they're like— 'This is great!' Even the grown-ups, they come in here and love it," she said.
Throughout Town Hall, many Christmas-dressed employees were on the search for the Grinch, the town's Elf on The Shelf that just so happens to be Town Administrator Derek Sullivan. Carbone said it was "awesome" to participate every year.
"We're lively in here, we're smiling all the time and it gives off a little bit of Christmas spirit walking into something that's decorated and festive," she said.
The Board of Health's happy screams could be heard echoing through the halls upon the announcement of their win. The office was presented with the trophy while "We Are The Champions," played in the background.
