Gloria Filkins Burgess, 79
Gloria Filkins Burgess, of Wareham, MA and Randolph, VT, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Emma and Stanford Filkins and one of eleven siblings. Gloria attended Kenyon Campbell Business School, where she studied accounting. In her early years, she worked as a waitress before beginning a long and dedicated career with Ocean Spray Cranberries, where she remained until her retirement.
Gloria had a deep love for her family. She leaves behind four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished dearly, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Stanley, Leroy, Ashley, Walter, and Vernon Filkins, and her sister Patricia Cardoza.
She is survived by her siblings Dennis Filkins, Terri Jo Filkins, Kim Fontes of Wareham, and Sheila Tsagus of Attleboro, MA. She also leaves behind her beloved children: Scott Filkins, Randy Cardoza, Jason Burgess, and Ami.
Gloria found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including trips to the casino, scratch tickets, shopping, and traveling. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family.
In accordance with her wishes, Gloria was cremated, and her ashes will be laid to rest with her family.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
