Drumming up a good time at the library

Odaiko New England, a Boston-based Japanese taiko drumming ensemble, will perform a free community concert in Wareham on Saturday, June 20.

The performance will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. and is open to all ages. Organizers said the concert will be held outdoors, weather permitting.

Audience members are encouraged to bring a donation for Damien’s Food Pantry in place of admission.

Odaiko New England has operated for more than 30 years, offering performances, classes and workshops designed to introduce American audiences to the art of taiko drumming and promote appreciation of Asian American cultures. The group’s performances emphasize harmony, community and ensemble drumming.

The event is part of the community’s spring concert series. Parking will be available across the street in the Town Hall and Multi-Service Building parking lot.
