Robert K. West, 66
Robert K. West, 66, of Oxford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, MA, on September 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 18, 1959, in Leominster, MA, Bob was the beloved son of the late Mary A. West and Daniel M. West.
Bob graduated from Leominster High School, Class of 1977, and went on to attend Florida Institute of Technology, where he majored in Oceanography. At FIT, Bob was well known around campus for his likeability and as the judge on the student government. Bob had a long career in safety and compliance, environmental matters, and even working on an offshore oil research boat in the Gulf of Mexico. After settling back in Massachusetts, Bob devoted 25 years to Dav-Tech Plating, where he was not only a dedicated employee but a cherished member of the workplace community. Bob’s colleagues at Dav-Tech could always rely on him for a helping hand, a listening ear, or a lighthearted joke.
Bob made his home in Oxford for the past 22 years, a town he chose to be closer to his daughter Alison while she attended Holy Cross. He will always be remembered for his gentle disposition, sense of humor, strong work ethic, and the extraordinary capacity he had to love deeply and unconditionally.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Harlan West. He is survived by his devoted daughter and best friend, Alison West of Wareham, MA. He leaves behind his brother, Daniel L. West and his wife, Alice Green, of Charlotte, NC and their children, Sterling and Jaclyn. He will be missed by Harlan’s children, David, Lisa, Diane and Michael, and their families. Bob also leaves behind many cherished cousins and friends. Lastly, Bob will be sadly missed by his “grand-cats” Mickey and Gypsy, who brought him joy.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rte.28), Wareham. All friends and family are welcome.
