Pour Farm Tavern comes to Main Street
The little red building on the corner of Main and Center Street will be getting a new name and purpose.
From flower shop, to wine bar and now a craft beer tavern, 196 Main Street will be bringing a bit of night life to the heart of Wareham. Following the closure of the buildings former restaurant the Scarlett Rose in 2024, the building sat vacant for months.
Owners of the Pour Farm Tavern Jennifer and Brad Cardoza announced via Facebook Tuesday, Nov. 18 that the famous New Bedford bar and grill would be opening a second location in the gateway town, replacing the Scarlett Rose.
The 780 Purchase Street location in New Bedford offers a multitude of craft beers from around New England. The tavern also serves various food items and often hosts live music for patrons.
While the announcement is new, the steps to bring the Pour Farm Tavern have been in motion for a while. The tavern applied for the license to sell liquor at the Tuesday, June 3 Select Board meeting.
Jennifer described plans for the tavern as a "quiet neighborhood bar."
"We'd like to be a neighborhood spot. People come in, they're casual— come in as they are. Have a drink, have some food and community," she said.
