Letter to the Editor: Thank you from the Wareham Dog Park

May 27, 2025
The Dog Park Affiliation of Wareham (DPAW) is grateful for the community support to make Wareham Dog Park’s 2 Birthday PAWty a success. The April 27 PAWty began with the Blessing of the Dogs by Reverend Hilary Greene followed by the opening of the park trail & remembrance garden. New park perks were also celebrated; shade structures, agility equipment, additional benches/waste stations & info kiosks.

Dept of National Resources Director Garry Buckminister secured a Stanton Foundation grant for the park’s new features. Vincent Smith donated his talents & time to build & install the kiosks. Municipal Maintenance & DNR installed the park equipment & trail. A Mass Cultural Council Festivals & Projects grant funded the 2500 daffodils & tools to jumpstart the remembrance garden. Hannaford Supermarket sponsored the Birthday Cake PAWty table. Gone Country Creamery mixed & packed the Pup Cups with ingredients & toppings funded by Market Basket, Shaw’s Supermarket & Stop & Shop. Target funded the Kindness Rocks table.

This fall, we look forward to adding Remembrance Day to our annual events the spring Birthday PAWty & summer Unleash the PAWsibilities Ares Youth Creative Arts Contests.
