Francis P. Lydon “Frank,” 68, of Wareham, MA, passed away on February 12, 2025 at his home in Wareham.

Frank was born in Dorchester, MA to Peter J. Lydon and Patricia (Doolin) Lydon on December 24, 1956. He attended Xaverian High School in Westwood, MA and graduated in 1975. Frank worked as a Correctional Officer for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections for 22 years.

He enjoyed being a husband, father and Papa as well as being a coach and mentor to his children, grandchildren, and the youth of Wareham. Frank coached in organizations such as Wareham Youth Soccer, Junior Basketball Association of Wareham, Wareham Little League, Wareham Senior Babe Ruth, and Wareham Tigers Football. He also enjoyed being his grandchildren’s number one fan at their sporting games and activities. Frank spent summers with his wife Christine on Southport Island, ME and loved boating along the coast of Boothbay Harbor and Buzzards Bay, MA.

Frank is survived by his wife, Christine (Beaton) Lydon; his daughter, Erin, and her husband Shayne King of Plymouth, MA; his son Timothy Lydon, and his wife Elizabeth of Rochester, MA; and his son, Francis Lydon, Jr. and wife Kera of Sanford, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Shayne Jr. and Riley King; Alayna and Sydney Lydon; and MacIlroy, Westin, Kallan and Savannah Lydon. Frank’s additional survivors include his mother, Patricia Lydon; brother, Peter Lydon III and his wife Patricia; his brothers John, William, and Paul; and his nephews, Conor, Peter IV, Jonathan and Rory. He is predeceased by his father Peter, and his brother James.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations - Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 10:00 am.
