Sunday, May 4

Raise money on the run

The Kiwanis Club of Bourne and Wareham’s annual Cinco De May 5k will take place Sunday, May 4 and participants will walk or run through the trails on the A.D. Makepeace headquarters located at 150 Tihonet Road.

Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. the day of the race and the race begins at 9 a.m.

All proceeds will be used to benefit community programs in Bourne and Wareham.

The race fee for adults is $25, $20 for anyone age 11 to 18 and $15 for kids 10 and under.

Before the race begins, participants can help themselves to coffee and donuts and a variety of cranberry drinks will be available upon completing the race.

Classical concert

Head over to the First Congregational Church for an evening of classical music performed by world renowned musicians.

The concert will be held Sunday, May 4 at the church located at 11 Gibbs Avenue beginning at 3 p.m.

The performers will be singer David Won and pianist Timothy Steele. The two will perform a wide range of classic, traditional, religious, and theater songs in their eleventh performance at the church.

A reception will follow the concert where attendees can meet Won and Steele. Admission is free but donations are welcome.

Thursday, May 8

Annual art fair

Celebrate young artists at Wareham High School's Library Thursday, May 8 at 6 p.m.

Various art pieces from students will be on display as well as interactive activities for guests to enjoy. Wareham High School Culinary will be providing treats and the music department will be playing tunes throughout the event.

Be a part of the art with face painting from the National Honors Society and enjoy poems from the poetry club. 

The event is free and some art featured will be available for purchase.
