Wareham Emergency Management presented Eversource Community Relations Specialist Anthony Veilleux with a plaque thanking him for his work during the July 3 microburst.

The storm left 50,000 people across the South Coast including over 70% of people in Wareham without power for almost three days.

Emergency Management Director Calib LaRue presented Veilleux with the plaque Thursday, Sept. 4 for Veilleux’s role in allocating 75% of Eversource’s resources to clear roads and get power in Wareham back. He also supported Municipal Maintenance in checking power lines.

Veilleux has also supplied the town with 14 rapid radios, a walkie-talkie device that utilizes cellular networks to make communicating in emergencies more reliable for first responders.
