WAREHAM – Lucy Ann (Cerrato) Bonaparte, 92, of West Wareham, passed away on Sept. 3, 2025, at Tobey Hospital. She was the wife of Harold W. Bonaparte. They were married for 70 years. She was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Della (Quarleno) Cerrato.

She was born in Brockton and lived in Brockton for many years before moving to West Wareham in 2005. She graduated from Brockton High School.

Mrs. Bonaparte worked at Kmart, Sears, Almy’s and Edgar’s Department Stores for several years before retiring.

She enjoyed square dancing and traveling. She was a wonderful cook and loved to decorate and entertain at Christmastime.

Survivors include her husband, Harold W. Bonaparte; her children, Diana Wright of Bridgewater, Peter Bonaparte and his wife, Gail Leblanc of Lakeville, Carol Butler and her husband, Robert of Mansfield, Tom Bonaparte of Sandwich, Katherine Nye and her husband, Barry of Sheldon, VT and William Bonaparte and his wife, Mary of Holliston; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Thomas Wright, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Bonaparte and her siblings, Samuel Cerrato and Rose Pitella.

Visiting hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Center Cemetery.
