Waste discussions continue

Aug 12, 2020

At Tuesday night’s Board of Selectmen meeting, Selectman Jim Munise reported that waste discussions are continuing with Carver.

With the current waste district set to wrap up at the end of 2020, Wareham and Carver are discussing the possibility of continuing to operate the transfer station on Rte. 28 in Rochester without Marion.

The board approved sending an initial letter of interest in the property to the waste district.

The towns have also issued a request for proposals for curbside pick-up, but Munise said there are some people who will still want to go to a transfer station.

The Selectmen are planning a workshop dedicated to talking about trash plans, tentatively scheduled for September 1.
