Wareham elementary looks to raise money for Friends of Jack Foundation
Wareham Elementary School is taking the Friends of Jack challenge to raise money and awareness for programs that benefit the physical, mental and emotional well-being of kids in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The Friends of Jack is a nonprofit started by Mattapoisett resident Jiline Fearons whose son Jack underwent several procedures for a rare condition. Fearsons wanted to get kids more support and the “challenge” involves students and faculty sporting a red tutu during the school day.
The challenge began Wednesday, Nov. 26 and will run until Friday, Dec. 5.
The school is hoping to raise $500 for the nonprofit which also provides kids with superhero capes, masks and teddy bears while undergoing treatment.
The nonprofit also donates presents for Wareham elementary families during the holiday season.
