Crafting it up

Trinity Christian Church is hosting a Harvest Fair and Luncheon Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 462 Main Street.

The fair will include homemade, crafts, auctions, handmade quilt raffles, a game table and homemade baked goods.

Lunch will begin at 11 a.m. and include homemade clam chowder, steamed hot dogs, chicken salad sandwich, chips, drinks and homemade apple crisp.

The Mission Thrift Shop will be open during the event.

Sunday, Sept. 7

Skrrt skrrt

Go full throttle for food with Damien’s Food Pantry in a 45 mile motorcycle ride through the South Coast.

Riders will take off from Damien’s at 242 Marion Road Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. and take a scenic drive of the area before ending at Redmen Hall, 745 Main Street.

Registration is $25 per person and $15 for a barbecue lunch. The first 100 people registered will receive a free t-shirt and everyone will be entered in a door prize raffle.

The event will also feature raffles, a cash bar and live entertainment.

Tuesday, Sept. 9

The next Bob Ross

Head over to Marks Cove Vista and join Wareham Land Trust and art enthusiast Sue McComb for a plein air sketching session Tuesday, Sept. 9, 120 Cromesset Road.

Beginning at 10 a.m., participants will join McComb in drawing the salt marshes on the property until 12 p.m. when everyone will get the chance to share their work.

The land trust welcomes people of all skill levels and participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies but colored pencils and a sketchbook will be available for those that need them.

Wednesday, Sept. 10

Get those steps in

Join Wareham Land Trust board of advisors member Ann Bryant for a walk on the trails at Bryant Farm Wednesday, Sept. 10.

The 1-mile walk will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 11:30. Participants will learn about an Osprey nest with a view of the river as well as the various habitats and the history of the property.

Parking will be available at Golf Shots Driving Range, 123 Sandwich Road and that is where the group will meet before hitting the trails.

Thursday, Sept. 11

Breathe in, breathe out

Join the Wareham Land Trust and Stella Maris Yoga Studio for an outdoor yoga session focusing on mindfulness and nature.

The session will be held Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Douglass S. Westgate conservation area, 29 Papermill Road from 10 to 11 a.m.

All skill levels are welcome and outdoor yoga sessions will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. until Oct. 23.

The land trust recommends bringing a yoga mat or towel, water, comfortable clothing and bug spray.
