Mary V. Rose scholarship applications now open
The Oak Grove Cape Verdean Cultural Center is now accepting applications for the Mary V. Rose Annual Scholarships.
The scholarship honors Mary V. Rose, a longtime Onset resident and founding member of the Oak Grove Cape Verdean Cultural Center. Rose was widely recognized for her deep commitment to community service, as well as her compassion and dedication to helping those in need. She passed away in May 2020 at 105-years-old.
The annual scholarship program was established to continue Rose’s legacy of community support and to promote empowerment through education.
This year, the center will award two $1,000 scholarships to students who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution. The Mary V. Rose Scholarship is open to students of all backgrounds and fields of study.
Applications are available through the guidance office at Wareham High School. All completed applications must be submitted by May 1, 2026.
