A man was seriously injured on 19th Street in Onset when a tree he was cutting down fell and struck him at about 9 a.m. on Monday. Onset Fire said that while a caller initially reported that the man, who was estimated to be in his sixties, was trapped, he was not. 

Onset Fire, Emergency Medical Services, and Wareham Police responded to the scene. 

Fire crews worked to cut some limbs and branches so EMS could more easily load the man into the ambulance. The man was brought by ambulance to Tobey Hospital before being brought by MedFlight to another facility.

Officials did not release the man’s name or any more information about his injuries.
