Letter to the Editor: Thanks from Unleash the PAWsibilities

To the Editor:

The Dog Park Affiliation of Wareham’s 8 th Unleash the PAWsibilities Area Youth Creative Arts Contest was a success thanks to community effort, generous donors and creative kids. 

Our collaborators were the Gleason Family YMCA, Wareham Free Library, the US Postal Service and the Wareham Pack Walkers. Visual, creative writing and best in show combo judges were Marlissa Briggett, Kat Jones, Jane Gleason, Susan Pizzaloto, Anne Eisenmenger, Marcia Hickey, Anthis Frangiadis and Melissa Dyer. 

The Family Celebration was held August 21 at the Gleason Family YMCA. Facchetti & Facchetti, LTD was our awards sponsor. Our Prize Patrol donors ensured everyone who entered won a prize: WaterWizz, Hyline Cruises, Gleason Family Y, Buttonwood Zoo, Papa Gino’s, Melissa’s Bread & Beauty Co., Minkle Boys Catering, Jo Jo’s Bakery, Heritage Museum & Gardens, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Marc Anthony’s Pizzeria, Nana’s Ice Cream. 

Congratulation to our 2026 winners Molly Wallace, Nova Lomp, Kailyn Ostiguy, Cheyanne Lovell and Ava Ostiguy. The Unleash Gallery is at the Main Street Post Office through the end of September followed by a traveling gallery to area senior facilities.   

Curated pieces become part of DPAW’s Birthday PAWty and Remembrance Day galleries as well as rotated in the Wareham Dog Park’s two kiosks.

Thanks to our supporters and grateful appreciation to our Unleash participants for bringing joy & reativity to the community.
