Letter to the Editor: Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is great

To the Editor:

The Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is an absolute treasure. Wareham is lucky to be home to such a special place. I am grateful to everyone who played a part in creating this beautiful Mass Audubon park, and for those who support its ongoing preservation.

During a week-long visit with family in the area, we enjoyed several hikes on the various trails in the sanctuary, which hosts a mix of marsh and pine forest and a lovely view of Buzzard’s Bay. We witnessed numerous birds, including osprey and herons, and a variety of plant life. Time slowed, as it often does in wild spaces.

I am already looking forward to future visits to Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, and I hope locals are taking advantage of this community asset.
