Jose Silverio Lucio (Joe), 68
Jose Silverio Lucio (Joe), 68 of Wareham MA, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026 in his home with his loving wife and family by his side after battling cancer for 19 months.
He was born on February 9, 1958 to the late Jose (Freitas) and Maria (Castelo) Lucio in Lajes das Flores, Azores, Portugal, where he lived until he was 13 years old. At that time he came to this country with his family and was raised and educated in Stoughton MA.
Joe had an adventurous spirit. He loved fishing and being near the ocean, gathering with family and friends around sporting events and good Portuguese food. He had a big heart and a laugh that was infectious. Joe worked in the trades for 45 years and was able to fix anything anyone needed and he always loved to lend a helping hand.
His greatest joy and source of pride was the life he built with his loving wife Bernadette and their beautiful blended family they raised for 35 years together in Bridgewater, MA.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Bernadette Lucio of Wareham, MA, his son Kenneth Lucio and wife Leah of Marshfield. His 4 step children and their spouses. Patricia Hayward and her husband Steven of New Hampshire, Michael Odom and his wife Melissa of Florida, Andrew Odom and his wife Amy of Raynham and Timothy Odom and his partner Melissa Krappe of Bridgewater. His love and devotion extended to his 11 grandchildren Sean Hayward and his wife Deanna and Daniel Hayward. Holly, Joseph and Analise Odom, Eliza Odom , Ruby, Charles and Jesse Odom and”his baby” Ava Lucio. He is also survived by his loving sisters Umbelina Fraga and her husband Larry and Eunice Fraga. Many nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
