Francis R. “Buddy” Alley, 93, of Wareham, died September 15, 2020, in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford. He was the son of the late Herbert L. and Mazie (Graham) Alley.

He was born in Middleboro and lived in Wareham for most of his life. He attended New Bedford Vocational High School.

He was a World War II Army Veteran.

Mr. Alley worked for the Municipal Maintenance Department for the Town of Wareham for many years before retiring.

He was a member of the former Benjamin D. Cushing VFW Post 2425 in Marion. He enjoyed spending time at Center Park in Wareham. He loved his plaid shirts. 

Survivors include his daughter, Dianne M. Pierce and her husband Mark of Wareham; a brother, Herbert Alley and his wife Gertrude “Gerry” of Hanover; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Alley and Jennifer Voner; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Doris Preti and great-grandfather of the late Joshua Alley. 

His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020 at Center Cemetery, Wareham. Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be required, including the use of face masks and social distancing.
