Brockton man arrested in Wareham for Quincy murder

Jan 25, 2023

A Brockton fugitive was arrested at a Wareham residence for the August 2022 murder of a Quincy man.

23-year-old Dante Clarke, arrested by state and local police on Monday, Jan. 23, is one of seven men suspected in the fatal shooting of Jordan Wiggins outside of his Quincy apartment on Aug. 18.

On the same day as his arrest, Clarke was arraigned in Norfolk Superior Court on charges including murder, home invasion and armed robbery. He is currently being held without bail and will be back in court for a pretrial hearing on March 6.

There, he will join fellow suspects: Cornell Bell, Jr., whose age and residence are unknown; Dwayne D. Harper, 28, of Dorchester; and Sheik Ramos, 28, of Boston.

According to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, Clarke was arrested in September 2022 for assault and battery on a police officer involved in the Wiggins case. Clarke was not a suspect at the time.

When he failed to appear for his pretrial hearing on Oct. 3, a warrant was put out for his arrest.

He and six others were indicted for the murder of Wiggins, among other charges, on Dec. 20.

Three men indicted for Wiggins’s murder remain at large: Derek Miranda, aka Derek Cardoso, 28, with ties to Randolph and Dorchester; Walter Batista, 25, of Boston; and Clayton Rodrigues, 27, of Abington and Dorchester.

Those who see them are asked to call 911 immediately.

Those with information about their whereabouts are asked to call the Quincy Police Department at 617-745-5768 or State Police at 781-830-4990.
