Brian Henry Cosgrove, 65

Brian Henry Cosgrove, 65, formerly of Canton, died June 3, 2021, at the VA Boston Healthcare, Brockton division. He was the son of the late Robert V. Cosgrove, Sr. and Marion L. (Krug) Cosgrove.

He was born in Boston and lived in Brockton and Waterford, CT for many years before moving to Canton recently.  Brian graduated from Brockton High School and spent many summers on Blackmore Pond in West Wareham. 

Mr. Cosgrove proudly served in the United States Navy Submarine Service on the USS Andrew Jackson (SSBN-619). 

He then worked as an Electrician for Electric Boat in Groton, CT for many years before retiring.  

He was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed volunteering with the elderly and at the Main Spring House in Brockton. He enjoyed meeting new people, laughing and telling jokes. He had a huge personality and was a lover of all foods. His true joy was time spent with his three grandchildren. 

Survivors include his daughter, Kristen L. Stone of N. Easton and her husband Dana; 2 sons, Matthew A. Cosgrove of Winston Salem, NC and Kevin C. Cosgrove of Norwich, CT; and three grandchildren: Olivia, Bella and David. He also leaves 3 brothers, Dennis F. Cosgrove and his wife Jessica and Barry C. Cosgrove and his wife Ingrid all of West Wareham and Joseph G. Cosgrove of Marion, his Aunt and Uncle Dotty and Larry Eyre of Sacramento CA, nieces Corinne and Pibeny and five cousins Marianne, Cindy, Allyson, Christine and Elizabeth. He also had a dozen Blackmore Pond cousins and many friends. He was the brother of the late Robert V. Cosgrove, Jr.

Brian deeply appreciated the unmatched kindness and professionalism of the entire staff at Building 7 at the Brockton division of the Boston VA Healthcare system.

His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.
