Bonnie G. Stinson, 76

WAREHAM – Bonnie G. Stinson, 76, of Hanson, passed away on June 22, 2023, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hopsital, Plymouth. She was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Jennie A. (Gayoski) Stinson.

She was born in Wareham and lived in Marion, Wareham and Carver for many years before recently moving to Hanson.

Bonnie was involved with the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and was a strong advocate for the independence of handicapped and special needs individuals. She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics with the Habilitation Assistance Corporation. Throughout the years, these were a few of her favorite things: talking politics and current events, making crafts and dog cookies, helping with cooking and baking, eating Polish food with her family, taking Cape Cod Canal Cruises, dining by the water, eating peach ice cream, singing, music, oldies on TV and game shows. Bonnie was blessed with exceptional verbal skills and served as an aide to help friends at her day program make their wishes and thoughts known.

Survivors include her sisters, Barbara J. Stinson of Medway, June Johnson and her husband, Albin of Marion and Deborah Stinson of Marion as well as cousins, nieces and nephews nearby in Rochester, Freetown and Fairhaven, and faraway in Illinois, Maine, Virginia, California and Florida.

Visiting hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marion.
