Become a computer whiz at the Library

Jan 12, 2023

Budding computer whizzes can learn how to use a keyboard and mouse, access the internet, set up an email account and be safe while surfing the web during a four-week computer class at the Wareham Free Library.

During weeks one and two, participants will learn how to use a keyboard and a mouse, how to use different parts of Windows like the icons, desktop, and start menu and basic typing skills using both traditional and laptop keyboards. A quick introduction to the internet will be covered to facilitate "at-home" activities meant to reinforce skills used in class.

During week three, participants will become more familiar with the Internet, learning about browsers, links, and bookmarks. Additionally, participants will learn how to search for information using Google.

During week four, participants will learn how email works. Participants will also become familiar with the different components of an email message, including sending and receiving messages.

A session of each class will run Tuesday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28, or Thursday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23.

Registration is limited to six people per date.  Registration is available on the Library website or directly at:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e44a4a72ba2fcc07-computer1#/
