Middle school musicians put on a show

Wareham Middle School students sprung to the stage to showcase their musical talents in the school's annual spring concert.

The concert was held Thursday, March 20 and featured performances from over 100 students across ensembles from the fifth, sixth and seventh grade as well as the school's jazz band and chorus.

"Our student musicians put in a lot of hard work leading up to this concert," said Wareham Middle School Music Teacher Caitlin Francese. "I'm so proud of their accomplishments and was thrilled to see what they've learned this year."

The fifth grade band performed a total of seven songs including American folk song "Go Tell Aunt Rhodie." The sixth grade band followed with their rendition of Randall D. Standridge's "Mechanical Monsters."

The combined sixth and seventh grade band performed "Zombie Attack" by Jason Taurins and the seventh grade band also featured two Standbridge pieces,"Bazar" and "Fragile."

The middle school jazz band, which features students from all three grade levels performed "Knock Out" by Erik Sherburne and the middle school chorus sang "Spring Spring Spring" by Teresa Jennings, and "What is This Feeling" from "Wicked," by Stephen Schwartz.

"We're very proud of the wonderful show our students put on this year," Superintendent D'Andrea said. "They showed off their new songs and skills to family and community members with great performances."
