Raymond Edward St. Jacques, 65
WAREHAM - Raymond Edward St. Jacques of Wareham passed away on January 4, 2025 at the age of 65. Ray was born to Robert Henry St. Jacques and Evelyn Bernice (Walker) St. Jacques in Wareham on January 24, 1959.
In his youth, Raymond was active in local sports, forged lifelong friendships with his peers, and lived a storied childhood with his sisters and brother. Ray was part of Wareham High School’s graduating class of 1977. After graduation, Ray entered the cranberry industry by joining the family business, Hayden Manufacturing, which the family owned since 1927. Raymond was a third-generation cranberry grower, following proudly in the footsteps of his grandfather, Emile, and his father, Bob. After his father’s passing in 1993, Raymond and his brother, David, went on to run Hayden Manufacturing together for the next three decades.
Ray was known by all as a kind, generous, and joyful man. He loved all Boston sports teams, music (especially blues), animals, reading, telling a good story, sharing in the interests of his children, and good food of any kind. He was happiest when in the company of friends, family, and his grandchildren.
Aside from his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Ryerson, his step-mother, Beverly A. St. Jacques, and his brothers-in-law, Timothy Knight and Jeffrey Raymond. He is survived by a family that loved him more deeply than words can describe: his immediate family including two sons and their wives, Shannon and Jacqueline (Schultz) Ryerson, and Eric and Erin (Connors) St. Jacques; Lynelle St. Jacques and their grandchildren, Brandi, Ally and Kyle Ryerson, and William and Norah St. Jacques; his siblings, Roberta Raymond, Elizabeth Knight, David St. Jacques, Lisa Healy and her husband Dan, Robert Braman and his wife Janet, and Deanna Braman; and countless other friends, extended family, and loved ones including Karen Sellars and family, the Laperriere family, the Churbuck family, the Raymond-Orozco family, the Healy family, the Braman family, the Foley family, the Gagnon family, and his beloved dog, Candy.
A service in memory of Ray’s life will be held at First Congregational Church, 11 Gibbs Ave, Wareham, MA on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
