Local boat builder to host program at Wareham Historical Society
Calling all Sailors! The Wareham Historical Society invites the public to a presentation by Bill Womack, president of Beetle Cat Boats, Inc. about the original Beetle Cat Boat Company that started out in New Bedford as whaleboat builders and relocated in Wareham in 2004.
The event will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Meeting House, 495 Main St., Wareham.
Womack, who purchased the rights to Beetle Cat from Charlie York in 2003, will present the history of the craftsmen, boatbuilders, sailmakers, paint suppliers who contributed to the company’s success.
These handcrafted boats have been taken out on New England waters for many years. Admission is free for Wareham Historical Society members and 2$ for non-members. Refreshments will be served after the program. For more information, call 508-295-8578.
