Classic cars come to the Elks
Jul 23, 2024
It was a banner day for classic car fans on Saturday, July 20, as coups, clunkers and Chevys rolled into the parking lot of the Wareham-New Bedford Elks lodge.
The car show was held to support Clean Agawam Mill Pond, a non-profit that keeps the pond clean and clear of plant matter. This is the second year the group has held a car show.
“We had a great show,” said the organization’s president, Mike Leinihan. “It was another great weather day,” the same as last year, he said.
Ten cars won honors from the show’s contest, voted on by members of the public. Marion resident Pattie Rowley won the best in show award with her light blue 1954 Chevy Bel Air Coupe.
“It was a very nice day,” said Leinihan. “Lots of families came by looking at the cars.”
