Get a taste of the south coast at Turning Point’s “Taste Of Our Towns” celebration on Monday, Sept. 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will take place at the Wareham/New Bedford Elks Lodge at 2855 Cranberry Highway.
Turning Point Day Resource Center aims to provide resources and support to families and individuals facing housing insecurity.
This event marks the 20th anniversary of the Wareham Area Committee for the Homeless’ development of Turning Point. It will feature restaurants from its service area, including Wareham, Buzzards Bay, Carver, Marion, Mattapoisett, Middleboro and Rochester.
Participating restaurants will bring a “taste” of one of their “community favorite” menu items for sampling.
Tickets for the sample tasting will be available for purchase at the door.
Additional activities for the day’s event are still in the planning stages.
“Turning Point has been an important part of the south coast community for the past twenty years,” said Turning Point Executive Director Shirley Santos, “and marking this anniversary with an event that celebrates coming together as a community is such a good fit”.
