John T. Serpa

John T. Serpa passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 6, 2021. 

Born in Provincetown, Massachusetts John married his high school sweetheart Mary Louise (McKinney) and entered into the United States Navy, where he served our Country for 20 years and retired as Chief. He then started a new career in the supermarket industry where he remained until he retired.  

He was an avid sports fan, enjoying playing, coaching and watching. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence A. Serpa and Edith I. (Avila) Serpa of Provincetown, and his brother, Clarence A. Serpa, Jr. of Abington.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Louise (McKinney)  Serpa of East Wareham;  his son, Christopher J. Serpa of Dennis; his son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Keri Serpa of Plymouth; his daughter and son-in-law Karen A. (Serpa) and Kenneth Silva of Wareham; his daughter and son-in-law Janet L. (Serpa) and David Leonardo of East Wareham; his sister Cathryn E. (Serpa) Sciole of East Wareham; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with one due in August and many nieces and nephews.  

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. 

His funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
