Wareham sex offender sent to state prison for possessing child pornography

May 28, 2019

A Wareham man who is registered as a Level 2 sex offender pleaded guilty to charges that he possessed and disseminated images of child pornography, according to the office of Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.

Brandon Dalomba, 37, of Wareham, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, May 21, to two counts each of possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography. Plymouth Superior Court Judge Cornelius Moriarty sentenced Dalomba to serve three to four years in state prison, to be followed by three years of probation, according to the District Attorney.

Dalomba was arrested on June 28, 2017, at 56 Swifts Beach Road, after a months-long investigation by the  Massachusetts State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Dalomba lived at the home with his father, and was known for selling used children’s bikes from his front lawn.

At the time of his arrested, Dalomba was listed as a Level 3 Sex Offender, which means the individual is “at a high risk to reoffend.” Dalomba was convicted of three charges of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age in 2000. In 2008, he was found guilty of one count of indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older.

As part of the investigation, forensic examiners determined that there were numerous digital files depicting child pornography that had been downloaded to a computer connected to Dalomba’s IP address.

The IP Address was traced to a home in Wareham, and State Police sought and obtained a search warrant for that address. State Police seized four primary desktop hard drives, one laptop, desktop hard drives, a ZTE 981 cellphone and other additional media storage equipment and devices.

Additionally, there were images containing child pornography found on Dalomba’s cell phone that he admitted to downloading.
