Two Wareham residents were among six men indicted in connection with an interstate gun trafficking operation.

A joint state, federal and local investigation led by Attorney General Maura Healey’s office revealed that the six defendants allegedly transported guns from Florida and Michigan to sell in Massachusetts. The investigation also uncovered evidence of heroin and cocaine trafficking.

West Wareham natives Mathew Capozzi, 37, and Nicholas Ieronimo, 33, were each indicted on one count of conspiracy to transport a firearm into the commonwealth.

The six men will be arraigned in Bristol and Plymouth Superior Courts at some point in the future. These charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
