Wareham Public Schools Superintendent Matt D’Andrea to retire in 2026
Superintendent of Wareham Public Schools Matt D’Andrea is retiring at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, said School Committee Chair Kevin Brogioli.
D’Andrea’s contract ends next school year and he has spent three years in Wareham as the superintendent. He was a teacher in Wareham Public Schools for 10 years.
“After thirty years in public education, I am both proud and grateful to announce my retirement at the end of next year. It all began in Wareham, where my teaching career took root, and it is here where I have been fortunate to wrap up my professional journey,” D’Andrea said. “I will be forever grateful to the Wareham community for providing me with the opportunity to serve as an educator in such a great school system, and I will deeply miss the collaborative spirit and warmth that has defined my career. That being said, we have much to accomplish over the next 14 months and I look forward to that work.”
D’Andrea has also worked as a principal in the Old Rochester School system and served as the Superintendent of Martha’s Vineyard Public Schools from 2015 until he took the Wareham job in 2022.
The School Committee will hear two search committee proposals at their next meeting Thursday, April 17.
