The Wareham Fire Department and Water Department has improved its rating from the Insurance Services Office, which means that homeowners will be able to save some money on the fire portion of their home insurance.

The district is now a Class 2 department — the second-best possible rating. Previously, the department was rated at a 3.9.

The Onset Fire District achieved Class 2 status in June, putting both of the town’s fire districts in the top eight percent of fire departments in Massachusetts.
