The Wareham Veterans Day committee is planning a parade and ceremony in Wareham on Nov. 11 and is seeking applicants for a grand marshal from area veterans. Applicants from Bourne, Carver, Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester and Wareham will be considered.

The grand marshal will be the public face of the celebration and is expected to participate in pre-event publicity events, be interviewed by local reporters and public access television, ride in the grand marshal's vehicle and make brief remarks during the ceremony.

To be considered, applicants must be active, honorably discharged or retired members of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard. Applicants need to be a resident of the aforementioned towns, submit a completed nomination letter to the Chairman of the Grand Marshal Committee and provide information about their military service as requested by the committee.

Submit letters of nomination by Sept. 21 and email them to WarehamVeteransParade@wareham.ma.us.
