Upper Cape Tech earns top spot in Massachusetts
BOURNE — Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical Schools ranked number one in the state for vocational cooperative education participation for the third year in a row.
For the 2025-26 school year, 54% of eligible Upper Cape Tech students participated in cooperative education, the highest participation rate among the vocational and technical schools included in statewide data.
Cooperative education is a form of learning that combines academic study with practical work experience.
“Co-op gives students the opportunity to take what they have learned and apply it in a professional setting while building the confidence, responsibility and workplace skills that will serve them long after graduation,” said Superintendent Roger Forget.
A total of 222 students contributed to 81,792 hours worked and almost $1.5 million earned while gaining professional experience in their fields.
“Ranking first in the state for three consecutive years speaks to the strength of our cooperative education program and, most importantly, to the commitment of our students, staff and employer partners,” Forget said.
The school’s cooperative education program provides juniors and seniors with supervised and paid on-the-job training related to their technical program. It allows students to explore their career field before graduation.
