Tobey Hospital named one of ‘World’s Best’ for fifth straight year
The Southcoast Hospitals Group, consisting of Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Charlton Memorial in Fall River and St. Luke’s in New Bedford, made it onto Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Hospitals for the fifth year in a row.
According to Newsweek, the Southcoast Hospitals Group is the 271st best hospital in the United States.
“I am so proud of our staff, both on the front lines and behind the scenes,” said Southcoast Health President and CEO Ray Kruger, MD, FACS. “The fact that Southcoast has earned this prominent recognition consecutively since 2019 demonstrates our unwavering commitment to our community and providing exceptional care across the South Coast region.”
The ranking, done by Newsweek and the Statista, Inc. data research firm, includes 2,300 hospitals in 28 countries. 414 hospitals in the United States, 17 of which were located in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, made the list.
To make the list, Newsweek and Statista, Inc. measured data compiled from medical experts, hospitals and patients alongside internationally-set hospital quality metrics.
