Saturday, November 2

Walk or run a 5k.

Grumpy’s 8th Annual Cranberry Harvest 5k Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. on November 2 at the A.D. Makepeace Company at 150 Tihonet Rd. The event is family-friendly and open to walkers, runners, and joggers. 

All entrants will receive a catered lunch, and prizes will be awarded in different age categories. 

A special display of Robert “Grumpy” Conway’s nature-inspired photography will be available for viewing during the post race festivities. Proceeds will go to scholarships. 

Registration is available online at www.grumpy5k.racewire.com or before the race, and costs $25 for adults and $15 for kids ages four to 18.

Learn self-defense.

SBG East Coast will offer a free women’s self-defense seminar to train women on the essentials of self-defense on Saturday, Nov. 2, from noon to 2 p.m. at Straight Blast Gym East Coast on 14 Kendrick Rd., Wareham. The seminar is free to the public but registration is required by calling 508-295-5427 or emailing sbgeastcoast@gmail.com.

Play games.

Support Wareham High School at a Game Night at Stone Path Malt, 11 Kendrick Rd., on Saturday, November 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. The event, which is open to those ages 21 or older, will include appetizers, a cash bar, and raffles and auction items. Games will include corn hole, ping pong, giant jenga, and board games.

Sunday, November 3

Walk mindfully.

The Wareham Land Trust will be hosting a free mindfulness walk from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Tweedy and Barnes property on 230 Blackmore Pond Rd. Participants should bring bug repellent and water and wear comfortable shoes for hiking. The event is free, but registration is requested at www.warehamlandtrust.org/category/events/.
