Things to do: Blood, bombs and a roast pork dinner

It’s always exciting in Wareham. This week, donate blood for the Boston Children’s Hospital, hear about a federal agent’s investigations and have dinner with the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Friday, Oct. 27

Give blood in Boston
The Wareham Police Department is sponsoring a blood drive at Boston Children’s Hospital. The drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To register, visit bostonchildrens.org/halfpints and use the sponsor code WRHMPD.

Enjoy a roast dinner
The Wesley United Methodist Church is hosting a roast pork dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will take place at 462 Main Street.
Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $7.00 for children under 10. For more information, call or text Pastor Ginny at 508-564-1988.

Saturday, Oct. 28

Start to shred
The Wareham Recycling Center will hold a free paper shredding day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will take place at the center’s location at the end of Plymouth Road.

Bang, boom, burn
Author Wayne M. Miller will give an author talk at the Spinney Memorial Library, 259 Onset Avenue, at 1 p.m. The program is free.
Miller had a 25 year career as a special agent, criminal investigator and fire investigator with the federal government. He will talk about his book ‘Bang Boom Burn,’ a collection of 21 real life stories from his time on the front lines as a federal investigator.
