There’s always something to do in Wareham! This week, take in the sights and sounds of the holidays with Christmas in Onset Village, and take stock of your health with a flu shot clinic.

Friday, Dec. 8

Meet the artists
The Bourne Wareham Art Association and Wareham Free Library are hosting an art show for 14 local artists this December.
A Meet the Artist Reception is set to take place Friday, Dec. 8 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wareham Free Library, located at 59 Marion Road.
Forty-five works of art made from oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors and mixed media are currently on display and will continue to be daily throughout the month. The works are also available for purchase.

Saturday, Dec. 9

Christmas in Onset
Candy-cane markers will lead the way to a village full of holiday activities on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
That day, the Onset Bay Association will hold its annual Christmas in the Village event. See page 3 for more information.

Elementary school fair
Join the Wareham Elementary School Parent Teacher Association for its holiday fair on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wareham Elementary School.
The fair will include crafts and reindeer games, vendors and raffle baskets, food and baked goods and photos with Santa.

A holiday affair for all
The parishes of Saint Mary’s Star of the Sea in Onset and Saint Margaret’s in Buzzards Bay will come together for their fourth annual Holiday Fair on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Over 30 vendors will be at the parish hall at 141 Main Street in Buzzards Bay from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Monday, Dec. 11

Romance recommendations
With the holidays right around the corner, take some time to relax and find some good holiday romance reads.
Booklist Reviewer John Charles will give his “best of” list of 2023 in a virtual program held Monday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. Visit warehamfreelibrary.org to register.

Thursday, Dec. 14

Free flu shot clinic
Southcoast Health will hold a flu shot clinic for those 18 and over in partnership with the Wareham Council on Aging. It will take place Thursday, Dec. 14 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wareham Council on Aging building, 48 Marion Road.
Appointments are recommended but walk-ins are welcome. No insurance is needed. Call 508-291-3130 to schedule your appointment.
