Grab a friend and have a duel at the Wareham Free Library as they host a class teaching the basics of stage combat with an emphasis in swordplay Saturday, Jan. 18.

The event will be held at the library at 10 a.m. and participants will get to take part in an introductory class to how actors learn to fight on stage with an emphasis in swordplay.

Safety will be a prominent part of the class and students will learn techniques from western fencing and eastern disciplines.

The library recommends anyone participating where clothes that are easy to move in and appropriate safety gear will be worn at all times.
