Gina Purtell, Mass Audubon’s South East Community Science/Coastal Resilience Program Manager, will lead an exploration to identify nocturnal wildlife as it awakens on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary in Wareham.

Starting at dusk, the group will quietly traverse approximately 1.5 miles of trails without the use of flashlights in the hope of hearing owls that nest on the sanctuary. Participants are asked to dress for an outdoor, sunset wintertime walk. The programs are run in small groups and comply with current municipal, state, and Mass Audubon covid-19 protocols.

Preregistration is required for the Owl Prowl and can be completed at www.massaudubon.org/allenspondprograms. The cost to participate is $12 for a Mass Audubon adult member, $10 for a child member, $16 for an adult nonmember and $12 for a child nonmember.
