Recent arrests

The Wareham Police Department has made a number of arrests since Monday, June 25.

Other arrests were made but can not published because of privacy laws forbidding public disclosure.

Raymond Sylvia III, 28, of Wareham, was arrested for an active warrant by Officers James White and Christopher Corner at about 11:45 p.m. on June 25.

Wilfred Bergeron III, 46, of Wareham, was arrested for an active warrant at about 11 a.m. when Officer Aaron Pacheco, who was aware of the warrant, spotted him while working a detail.

At about 5:15 p.m., Officers Matthew Donovan and George Dionne arrested Barry Pires, 61, of Wareham, at Tobey Hospital following a disturbance.

He is charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

On Friday, June 28, a man was arrested on a warrant of apprehension, which, pending trial, forces a person to be committed to receive care for alcoholism or substance abuse, at about 9:00 a.m. on Cedar Street following a foot pursuit.

At about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a disturbance on Parker Drive.

Officers Kyle Gomes and Robert McLain arrested Daniel Lake, 40, of Wareham, for disorderly conduct. Ryson Joseph, 31, of Wareham, was taken into custody on an active warrant.

At 1:04 a.m., Officers Ryan Turner and Stephen Harrison responded to a motor vehicle accident on Crooked River Road.

James Luppino Jr., 27, of Wareham, is being summoned to Wareham District Court for the offense of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and speeding.

Lawrence Medeiros III, 42, of Wareham, was arrested at 8:35 p.m., at his residence on an active warrant.

At 11:15 p.m., Richard Rodriguez, 42, of Wareham, was arrested at his residence on an active warrant.

On Sunday at 10:15 p.m., Officers Matthew Donovan and Lorenzo Grosso responded to Doherty Street for a hit and run motor vehicle accident. 

At the scene, officers observed that a vehicle had been struck by a black Jeep which fled the scene. Within a few minutes, the Jeep and suspected operator were located on Old Onset Road.

During a search of the vehicle a small baggie of suspected cocaine was found on the driver’s side floor.

James Pires, 29, of Wareham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor 2nd  offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, possession of Class “B” substance, marked lanes violation, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

At 5:48 a.m. on Monday, Officer Kyle Gomes responded to an address on Cranberry Highway in West Wareham for suspicious activity where two women were taking scrap metal.

It was determined that the two women did not have permission to take the property and are going to be summoned to court.

Samantha Bergeron, 25, and Julie Ann Bergeron, 44, both of Wareham are being charged with larceny under $1,200.00.

At about 1:00 p.m. police responded to Walmart for a shoplifter. At the scene, Officers Blaise Lalli and Calib Larue arrested Rita Desmond, 55, of Wareham, who is being charged with shoplifting.
