Raymond Alexander Silva, 80
WAREHAM – Raymond Alexander Silva, 80, of Wareham, passed away on October 30, 2025, at The Oaks in New Bedford. He was the son of the late Alexander “Pinto” and Julia (Pina) Silva.
He was born in Wareham and lived there his whole life. He graduated from Wareham High School.
Mr. Silva was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He worked as a shipper and receiver for Snow & Jones Supply Company for several years before retiring.
He was a life member of the Dudley Brown VFW Post 2846 in Onset.
He enjoyed talking walks, watching the Western Channel all day, listening to his daughter Sonia talk about everything and anything & checking out the new crochet items she made. He loved his great granddaughter, KitCat beyond words.
Raymond’s family would like to thank Patty, Kelli, Karen, and Kris from Community Nurse Home Health Care for taking such great care of him and his daughter on his final journey & to Chaplain John for all those long talks, you will be missed and to The Oaks in New Bedford, especially the Pinewood unit for becoming Family when we needed it the most.
Survivors include his daughters, Sonia Silva of Wareham and Stacey Silva of Wareham; 1 brother, August Silva of Florida; 2 grandchildren, Alexander Silva and his wife, Mari and John Brand, IV; his great granddaughter, Catalya Solmarie Silva; several nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Casmiro “Casey” Silva, Avelino “Lovie” Silva, Rita DeBurgo, Frances Leighton, Antone “Tony” Silva, John Silva and Robert Silva.
Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
A graveside service will be held at 1:15 on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
