Police Association stuffs cruisers with almost 1,000 gifts

Dec 4, 2022

The Wareham Police Association collected almost 1,000 toys and gifts donated by local residents during this year’s Stuff-a-Cruiser event on Saturday, Dec. 3.

“I think the turnout was better [than last year],” said Police Association President Calib Larue, “given more people are out this year in the post-pandemic world.”

Police cruisers were parked outside the Walmart and Target in Wareham to collect the donations, which went to Turning Point to give to families in need. 13 Police Association volunteers loaded the toys onto a trailer operated by the Department of Natural Resources, who delivered the toys to Turning Point. The trailer had to make four trips due to the sheer amount of gifts.

“Some people from the public brought [shopping carts] full of toys,” Larue said, “which was extremely generous. It’s a great event, and officers are able to bring their family members to participate.”
