Pamela Kiernan, 78

Pamela Conry Kiernan, 78, of Wareham, died Dec. 24 in the Newfield House, Plymouth. She was the widow of the late Edward Murray Kiernan and the daughter of the late John Joseph and Grace Frances (O’Laughlin) Conry.

She was born in Pittsfield and lived in Wareham for many years. She graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, Stonehill College and received her master’s degree in education from Boston College.

Mrs. Kiernan initially worked as a teacher, but thereafter worked as a Title Examiner for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a member of the Friends of the Wareham Free Library. She was a former member of the Wareham Village Association, the Wareham Garden Club, the Jaycees and is a former Trustee of the Wareham Free Library.  

Mrs. Kiernan enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, water aerobics and she was an avid Red Sox fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Michael E. Kiernan and his wife Sarah of Norwell and Steven C. Kiernan and his wife, Cathrine of Wayland; a brother, Dennis Conry of Falmouth; seven grandchildren, Kate, Anna, Amy, Christopher, Thomas, Caroline and Andrew Kiernan; five nieces, Jacqueline Hogan, Meredith Camarillo, Vanessa Kruger, Lizzie Nattinger and Caroline Nattinger. She was the sister of the late Peter Conry and Christine Conry.

Visiting hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday Jan. 2 from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Anthony’s Church, 22 Barstow St., Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
