One game at a time for softball
Wareham High School Girls Softball has had a winning season so far, going 7-3 though Monday, April 29.
It’s “not bad,” said Head Coach Rudy Cadena. “We’re playing pretty good.”
Even with the team’s success, they are still taking the season one game at a time. The team has a fairly young core, with five freshman, five sophomores, two eighth graders and two seniors.
The team has had steady improvement throughout the season, Cadena said.
“From the get go, we’ve set very short term goals,” he said. “We’re a super young team, and we’re learning every day, every game, every practice.”
The team wraps up divisional play with a double header on Saturday, May 4 against Hollbrook High School. It’s currently ranked 33rd among teams in Division 5, according to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
As long as the team keeps improvement, it will make the end-of-season tournament, Cadena said.
