The Oak Grove Cape Verdean Cultural Center has announced the winners of its Mary V. Rose Scholarship.

Wareham High School seniors Salim Karam and Julia Bottino received $500 to further their college education. 

Karam plans to attend Temple University in Philadelphia, while Bottino plans to attend St. Bonaventure University in New York state. 

The scholarship was established in the memory of Mary V. Rose, the beloved “Mother Teresa of Onset” who died in 2020 at the age of 105.
