On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Norma Brown of Wareham, formerly of Randolph and Middleboro, passed away at the age of 98. Norma was the daughter of the late Alton and Beatrice McGee of Anson, Maine. She was the wife of the late Robert (Bob) Brown, and is survived by her son Gary and his wife Ardith of Assonet; son Kip and his wife Candace of Milton; four grandchildren: Brian Brown and his wife Jennifer Casto of San Diego, Heather Deary and her husband Justin of Uxbridge, Camden Brown of Dorchester, and Madison Brown of New York City; and three great-grandchildren: Abby, Micah and Max Deary of Uxbridge. Norma was predeceased by her sisters Betty, Dawnie and Ruthie, and brothers Lynn and Allen. She is survived by sisters Darcy and Linda, and brothers Joseph and Carl.
Norma grew up on a farm in Starks, Maine, driving horse teams and walking miles to the “little red school house”. She became an acclaimed artist who sold over 400 paintings, principally using oils, acrylics, and water colors. She was an active member of the Randolph, Canton, Braintree, Milton, Oak Point, North River, Duxbury, and Plymouth art associations. Her work has been shown in many exhibitions and juried collections, and on etsy.com (normabrowngallery@etsy.com). Among her many awards was a first-place blue ribbon from the Attleboro Art Museum for her oil painting “Kristen’s Kitchen”, which was subsequently sold to an art collector from the United Kingdom.
Over the years, Norma enjoyed dancing with Bob, watching a good series on HBO or Netflix, dinners at nice restaurants, and a good Manhattan cocktail.
A private graveside service will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Norma’s memory.
Arrangements are by the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street, Middleboro.
